Tallbreeze was born as a rogue along with Fern, Beekit, and Patchkit. Beekit and Patchkit were too weak to survive and ended up dying a few weeks after they were born. The remaining kits were separated when Cloudedspirit took Tallbreeze away to NightClan, and Fern was taken by Morningwish, his aunt. Tallbreeze continued to grow up in NightClan and became an apprentice. Tallbreeze enjoyed the clan life and the company of the kits in the nursery. He grew to love trees, and started learning how to climb early. But it wasn't long before his happiness began crashing down branch by branch. Cloudedspirit had found out about Tallbreeze's interest in other toms, and wasn't so happy about it. Cloudedspirit argued that finding a love interest would distract him from his apprentice duties, and that it would prevent him from becoming a warrior all together. Tallbreeze argued back with a reasonable response. "If I will become distracted from my clan duties just by finding a love interest, then how did you have the time to go out and find yourself a mate that's a kitty-pet?" The news of the argument spread throughout the family. Cloudedspirit even took it a step farther and said how Tallbreeze insulted his mother, just because she was a kitty-pet. This made the situation worse, and Tallbreeze couldn't visit Fern without receiving a glare from Morningwish, who was the sister of Heatherwave. He could even feel Fern's eyes burn through his fur, as if she was waiting for the right moment to judge him. None of his family would believe Tallbreeze's side of the story. They wouldn't even listen to it. When Tallbreeze thought all was lost, his only comfort was when he was with Foxshadow, who at the time was an apprentice who also struggled to fit in. Tallbreeze can recall so many memories from when they were together. Like when they found their own hide-out in the mountains, or when they fought off a badger who was threatening three kits. Tallbreeze finally began to feel himself opening up to the rest of the clan, and began to feel at ease. But then, something unexpected suddenly occurred:
Tallbreeze goes missing.
